Aylsham Runners welcome you all back to our second instalment of the Aylsham 10k. 
This year, offering a slight change of route enabling a faster start and finish. Still promising a little undulation on route. We are excited to see you all keen and eager at the start line!

The event is ideal for runners of all abilities and while it is great for those looking to smash their PB, it is also a perfect fit for someone taking on their first 10k race in a relaxed club environment on quiet country roads.

This event is run under UK Athletics Rules. The course has been measured and certified and UK Athletics Licenced - 2024-47694

Parking
Parking is limited in town, please be courteous to our residents and neighbours. Please car share where possible. There is free parking within walking distance to Race HQ available at:
The Buttlands Carpark, Mill Lane, Aylsham, NR11 6DS (5 min walk)
Burgh Road Carpark, Burgh Road, Aylsham, NR11 6AJ (6 min walk)
Aylsham Recreation Ground, Burgh Road or Sir Williams Lane, Aylsham. (10 min walk)

Race HQ
St Michaels C of E VA Primary & Nursery School, Schoolhouse Lane, Aylsham, NR11 6EX (THERE IS NO PARKING AVAILABLE AT THE SCHOOL).

07:30 – 08:30 Race HQ will be open.
Race Numbers will be available for collection between these times in preparation for the race start.
Baggage drop off is also located here as the race starts and finishes just outside the school. We will endeavour have somebody present throughout but take no responsibility for belongings left unattended.

08:50 Race Briefing will be held in the playground of the school. Following, we will walk you to the start location on Blickling Road (grid reference TG191269). What3words reference: reset.joked.minivans

Facilities
There will be toilets available at Race HQ. The school will also be providing refreshments and treats. Charges made for these will go towards school funding.

Course
The route has changed from last year. It will now be run entirely on closed roads starting and finishing on Blickling Road offering a wider, faster start and finish to last year. The course is an anti-clockwise lollypop type course following undulating, scenic country lanes.

The course is well marshalled, all of whom will offer encouragement and support. We also have two locations for our water stations with the first doubling up as the third for runners on the return leg of the single lap course. These water stations are situated just before 2km, at 5.5km and again at just past 8km.

Medals & Prizes
To avoid any unnecessary contact, medals will be near the finish line along with a bottle of water. Please take one per runner only.

Prize giving will be on the day. These must be collected in person or by an appointed nominee.

Male: 1st wheelchair athlete, 1st, 2nd & 3rd overall, 1st Senior, 1st 40-44, 1st 45-49, 1st 50-54, 1st 55-59, 1st 60-64, 1st 65-69, 1st 70-74 & 1st 75+ 

Female: 1st wheelchair athlete, 1st, 2nd & 3rd overall, 1st Senior, 1st 40-44, 1st 45-49, 1st 50-54, 1st 55-59, 1st 60-64, 1st 65-69, 1st 70-74 & 1st 75+

SAFETY NOTICE
Sorry, no buggies or dogs. Sorry, no headphones (inc bone conducting headphones) permitted. The race starts and finishes on Blickling Road, Aylsham. The course heads out on to Heydon Road out through Able Heath to Oulton Street and back. These roads will be closed for the duration of the race. Each KM will be Marked on route.

We will use markers to denote projected finish times (sub 35, sub 45 and sub 55 mins) please try to position yourself accordingly whilst lining up before the start line. The course has been measured accurately to accommodate the racing line. We intend to apply for a licence for this event. We will have qualified CSAS Marshals at key locations as well as many volunteers helping to maintain a safe and enjoyable event.
